I can carry out a range of simulations within Solidworks to help develop and optimise my designs to make them perform more efficiently and reduce their impact on the environment.
Weight Optimisation of Bicycle Crank
A topology study was run to see what material could be removed from the crank.
A static stress study was run to see how the optimised design would perform under loading.
Strength Testing Coffee Pod Holder
A drop test simulation was run to see whether the product could withstand impact. The corners were rounded to reduce the maximum stress by over 50%.
Static stress studies were run on the original model and on weight reduced models to prove that a more environmentally friendly design would still be durable.
